Who is Ed
1998, my physician told me my intestines were chronically inflamed, i.e. Crohn's Disease. After two years of swallowing heavy medication, I decided to search for alternatives. After having studied many articles, studies and newsgroups for hundreds of hours, I decided to give the alternative treatments a try.
I am very glad to inform you, that currently, September 2003, I haven't touched any medication for three years and for that same period of time all my symptoms have never returned.

Orthomolecular Medicine
Orthomolecular medicine is focused on healing the body by using natural foods, minerals and vitamins. Ortho means good, molecular mean molecules. Orthomolecular means healing using good molecules. For my specific condition this means I had to stop eating the modern diet. The modern diet is not anything like the diet we as a species have thrived upon for more than two and a half million of years. Because of the drastic changes in our diet since 10.000 years ago (the introduction of agriculture), many new modern diseases were introduced. In my situation it was Crohn's disease and besides that also hypoglycemia. The modern diet can also cause many more modern diseases like diabetes, heart diseases, cancer, overweight, candida, yeast infections and many more.

What's the matter with the modern diet ?
The human species and its evolutionary ancestors have thrived for more than 2.5 million years on a diet that consisted primarily of meat, leaves and berries. In terms of macronutrients, our diet consisted for the largest part of proteins and fats. Only 10.000 years ago, the agriculture was introduced. Since then humans started to eat grains, which consist of starches. The new diet was made up for a very large percentage of carbohydrates.
It's the shortage of fats, proteins and related minerals and vitamins and the overconsumption of carbohydrates in our modern diet that causes all these modern diseases. A well-kept secret is that we don't grow fat because of eating fats. In fact we grow fat and obese because of the carbohydrates.

This must sound very unbelievable to you. I also had to rethink and reread all the studies before I finally got the complete picture. Believe me, in the beginning, I also didn't believe all these studies, because "everybody was told it was the other way around".
The odds are great that you are seriously considering to close this browser windows and leave this site. That's a completely natural reaction, that's triggered by the overflow of conflicting information. I ask you to keep on reading. Try to keep an open mind and study the articles on this site, like I did for more than a year. The difference is that you are able to read all the information from one site, while I had to retrieve all pieces of the puzzle from all over the web.
To make it all even more unbelievable, check these statements, which you will learn to be true really soon:
Fats don't make you fat, while carbohydrates do; Eggs don't increase cholesterol, while carbohydrates do; Salt does not increase your blood pressure, while carbohydrates do. Shocking, don't you think. Your physician, your dietitian and the public campains have been giving you false information ! What struck me, is that all this misinformation was not based on scientifically performed studies. All the new facts I will present you _are_ based on modern studies.

Medical Revolution
Physicians practicing regular medicine get more and more frustrated, because they can't help you to cure the modern diseases. This eventually leads to stress and discomfort. You'll be amazed to see that your physician has never read the articles and studies, as published on this website. That's because a simple calculation shows that when your physician is 40 years of age, he has studied 20 years ago. His teachers were at that moment also 40 years of age and studies 20 years before that. This simple calculation shows that all recent studies (i.e. 1980 and later) have not been studies by the current physicians. When you show the physician the modern studies, a large group will not make use of these studies, because they haven't been published in one of the leading medical journals. A small group of more progressive physicians will embrace the new studies. When the second group of physician starts to increase in size, the alternative treatments will be renamed into regular treatments. That's the moment when the medical revolution has succeeded.

Did you know that
Cancer, diabetes, diseases of the heart and arteries and candida are in fact modern diseases. Many of these diseased exist for only a century. The pitfalls in history that lead us to these modern diseases are:

  • 10.000 years ago: The advent of agriculture

    Obviously, you have to be openminded to make any use of the information on this site. The information on this site will at first introduce a lot of chaos in your mind. Humans like to see everyhing in black/white: "Fact A is true, while fact B is false". When someone all at once tells you that in fact B is true and A is false, then this results in chaos in your mind. You have to be able to deal with this chaos.
    This site is for everybody who's looking for a better overall health and specifically for people suffering from any of the modern diseases.
